Legal Specialist
Role overview
Key Responsibilities • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, letters, and other legal documents. • Provide legal guidance to internal teams on day-to-day business matters. • Conduct legal research and prepare clear summaries and recommendations. • Monitor applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory developments affecting the business. • Support corporate governance, licensing, regulatory, and compliance activities. • Identify potential legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. • Maintain and organize legal records, contracts, and documentation. • Assist with disputes, claims, and legal proceedings in coordination with external counsel where required. • Ensure timely renewal and monitoring of contracts, permits, licenses, and other legal obligations. • Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, procedures, and standard agreements. • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other departments on legal matters. • Support internal compliance initiatives and provide awareness of relevant legal requirements.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent). • Relevant professional legal qualification or bar admission is preferred, where applicable. • 0-2 years of relevant legal experience , preferably in a corporate, commercial, or law-firm environment. • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate/commercial law, and regulatory compliance. • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal/document management systems.
