Procurement Officer / Specialist (Supply Chain / Vendor Management)Role Description We are seeking a Procurement Officer / Specialist (Supply Chain / Vendor Management) to manage and support the organization's procurement and supply chain activities while ensuring cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and compliance with procurement policies and business objectives. This role is responsible for sourcing goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and coordinating procurement processes to ensure timely and sustainable supply chain operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal departments, suppliers, logistics partners, and relevant stakeholders to ensure procurement activities are executed efficiently and aligned with organizational requirements. You will evaluate procurement needs, identify sourcing opportunities, and implement best practices that contribute to operational excellence and business growth. Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end procurement processes, including supplier sourcing, quotation and tender evaluations, purchase order administration, and procurement documentation. You will monitor supplier performance, support contract management activities, and ensure purchased goods and services meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations. The role also involves supporting supply chain operations by coordinating inventory requirements, tracking procurement schedules, and maintaining accurate procurement records. You will work closely with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities are completed in accordance with approved timelines, specifications, and organizational policies. You will contribute to vendor management initiatives by conducting supplier assessments, maintaining vendor databases, and supporting supplier onboarding and performance evaluations. In addition, you will assist in negotiating procurement terms and conditions where applicable and recommend sourcing strategies that improve procurement efficiency and supplier relationships. This position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support procurement planning, cost control initiatives, and supply chain optimization efforts. You will prepare procurement reports, analyze purchasing trends, and identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance operational productivity and procurement effectiveness. You will ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls while supporting risk management and business continuity initiatives within the procurement function. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, negotiation capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple procurement priorities in a dynamic business environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management practices, and vendor management methodologies. Knowledge of sourcing processes, supplier evaluation techniques, and procurement compliance requirements. Familiarity with purchase order management, contract administration, and procurement documentation procedures. Understanding of inventory management principles, demand planning, and supply chain coordination activities. Proficiency in procurement and ERP systems, procurement management software, or equivalent business applications. Knowledge of supplier relationship management, cost analysis, and procurement performance measurement practices. Familiarity with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and reporting tools for procurement analysis and documentation. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability to prepare procurement reports, purchasing documentation, supplier evaluations, and operational analyses accurately and professionally. Understanding of supply chain risk management practices, cost optimization strategies, and procurement best practices. Familiarity with vendor onboarding processes, supplier performance monitoring, and procurement audit requirements is preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple procurement activities and competing priorities effectively. Commitment to regulatory compliance, procurement ethics, and continuous professional development within supply chain and procurement functions. Ability to work independently while contributing positively within cross-functional business and operational teams.
